The North American Serials Interest Group (NASIG) is an independent organization that promotes communication, understanding, and sharing of ideas among all members of the serials information community.
Serials comprise the heart of many academic and special library collections, but like libraries in general, their value can be overlooked. Both librarians and vendors share the challenge of defining, demonstrating, and communicating the impact of serials collections. What difference does access to serials make in users’ lives? What data do we have that provides evidence of that impact? What data do we need to further demonstrate the value of serials? And how do we communicate the value and impact of serials to users?
